Owl Time Clock: 2010 “Family Business of the Year” Award Finalist
Owl Time Clock is pleased to announce that it was chosen by the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) GTA Chapter as the first runner up for its annual “Family Enterprise of the Year” award, presented at its dinner held March 25 in Toronto. The award, established in 1983 and sponsored by KPMG Enterprise™ and RBC Royal Bank, recognizes significant achievement made within a family enterprise.
CEO Tracy Parzych was on hand to receive the award and share the company’s business story with guests. The company, founded in 1965 by Tracy’s father John Parzych, defies statistics, which indicate only 30% of family businesses survive transition to a second generation, and only 30% of software development projects succeed. Owl Time Clock has done both.
“It is a privilege to be recognized for this prestigious award,” says Parzych. “We are very proud of our accomplishments as a developer of world class workforce management software. Not only does TimeZone™ have a positive impact on the bottom line of our customers through labor cost savings, it is good for the environment, reducing paper time cards and the printing of paper reports by enabling electronic time and attendance management, analysis and reporting.” Co-finalist Sicilian Ice Cream was also honored, along with award winner Gerrie Electric, who moves on to compete for the National Family Business of the Year award to be announced at the CAFE 2010 Symposium in Regina, May 26th – 28th.
